Pay Rate 24.00-26.00/hourly

Qualifications:
Ability to use hand and motorized tools such as drills and good dexterity required.

• Ability to understand basic mechanical drawings and have good mechanical skills and basic understanding of electronics

. • Have general knowledge of test equipment and calibration.

 • Be able to perform tests using electronic and mechanical test equipment and report results in a clear, organized manner, with attention to detail to ensure reliable results.

 • Display a solid awareness of the importance of attention to detail and understand its relevance to the role of a technician.

• Hands-on, self-motivated and safety conscious with the ability to understand technical concepts.

• Ability to deal with problems and derive solutions.

 • Willing to perform a wide variety of tasks including those considered non-technical.

 • Possess good judgment, take pride in their work and be persistent, yet even-tempered, in times of difficulty.

 • Ability to work well with others.

• Good electronic soldering skills is a plus, but not required

. • Experience with machine-shop equipment is preferred, i.e. Bridgeport, lathe.

 

 A minimum of a technical associate’s degree or three years technical technician related experience and/or training; or equivalent combinations of education and experience.

Responsibilities:

R&D support: Building prototype units for testing. Setting up test equipment (may include working with electronics. Performing a variety of tests in evaluation process and reporting results to engineering (e.g. acoustic testing, airflow testing, and Laser Doppler Velocimetry testing).

 

Fabricating fixtures for the purpose of building and testing prototypes (may include implementing with electronics). Operating machine shop equipment to do fabrication of simple fixtures and/or prototype parts.

Facility support: Updating documentation and instrument calibration as directed to sustain ISO 9001 certification. Appling the “5S” approach (Sorting, Straightening, Systematic Cleaning, Standardize, Self-discipline) with regards to the facility in order to work in a neat, clean, organized and efficient manner.
