The Job Summary:
  • Works in a team of media process technicians manufacturing dehydrated and liquid cell culture media.
  • Follows batch record instructions
  • Weighs microgram to kilograms quantities of individual raw materials, calibrate equipment, operate milling equipment, and perform sterile filtration
  • This position works closely with R&D, procurement, quality, process technology, marketing as well as external and internal customers and vendors.
The Basics:
  • Responsible for the staging of formulations, compounding of raw materials, milling, blending, aseptic liquid filling, and process control monitoring
  • Documents the manufacturing process of dehydrated culture media (DCM) and liquid media
  • Completes all required documentation neatly, accurately, and in accordance with GMP.
  • Performs cleaning, inspection, calibration, and assists in the maintenance of equipment.
  • Performs equipment troubleshooting.
  • Handles raw materials per GMP and Safety requirements.
  • Uses equipment such as pipettors, balances, osmometer, turbidmeter and pH meters.
  • May performs other duties as assigned in support of business goal
The MUST Haves:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience in manufacturing process facility.
  • Must be able to read, write, and follow testing and inspection procedures.
  • Must be able to maintain neat, accurate and complete records and logs.
  • Mechanical aptitude is required for minor equipment repair.
  • Must be able to focus with continuous attention to detail.
  • Experience in weighing multiple components is required.
  • Proficiency with computers and use of Windows applications such as MS Excel, MS Word and MS PPT is required.
  • Must be able to lift or move approximately 40lbs
  • Must be a great team player!
These Skills Would be Great!
  • Statistical analysis using mathematical spreadsheets such as Excel or Minitab is highly desired.
