Operations Manager (Fayetteville, NC)
On-Board Companies has an immediate opening for an Operations Manager for our partner in the Fayetteville, North Carolina area. The focus of this position is to manage the daily activities of the plant and insure the achievement company objectives through conformance to standards, development of employees, and lean initiatives.

Essential job Functions:
  • Manage and effectively lead the implementation and continuous operations of production basics within the Fayetteville, NC plant location
  • Directly manage daily activities of salaried and indirectly manage hourly employees (i.e. schedule attainment, attendance, conformance to company policy, conflict management, etc.)
  • Insure a safe working environment and conformance to safety policies.
  • Insure conformance to quality requirements and lead quality improvements to achieve zero defects both internally and externally
  • Manage the Technical Resources including PQE, PQE Tech, and overall Mechanical Maintenance
  • Lead and initiate process improvements to insure achievement of goals and objectives
  • Develop employees toward attainment of autonomous work teams
  • Provide clear communication at all levels of the business from operations workforce to Sr. management
  • Create and achieve Plant Manufacturing Strategies including Plant Layout, Capacity, and process flow
  • Establish and manage production area budget, KPI Metrics, team/individual goals, and core objectives (i.e. Safety LTA/Recordable, Quality Customer Concerns/PPM, Takt Achievement, Scrap %, OEE, Customer PPAP timing, MTTR/MTBF/OTPM, Direct and Indirect labor costs)
  • Generate and create implementation of sustainable improvements
  • Use data to analyze performance, create and implement action plans to correct issues
  • Embed a continuous improvement culture using lean tools and techniques
  • Identify opportunities for improvements within the area
  • Facilitate cross functional teams for improvement activities
  • Ensure compliance with TS and ISO standards and foster Quality Enhancements
  • Promote work team environment and help facilitate continuous improvement culture INS safety, workplace organization, lean manufacturing principles, and suggestion programs
  • Manage manufacturing processes to meet quality policies and procedures and customer specifications
  • Assure employees are trained and comply with MMS and establish safety rules
  • Perform capacity and people planning evaluations to assure that production demands are met

Requirements / Qualifications:

  • Education - Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations, business administration or related field; MBA preferred
