On-Board USA has an immeditate open for a CNC  Mill Machinist / Production Technician in Northwest Houston.
  • Individual will be running a HAAS EC-1600ZT and will be programing with Mastercam Software.
  • Must be flexible to help out in other areas of the shop as needed.
JOB SUMMARY
Under direct supervision, operates machinery to fabricate parts. This will include drilling and milling coponents to support the Petro Chemical Industry. The machinist loads parts in the machine, cycle machine operations, detects non-conforming parts and detects malfunctions in machine o9peraions, such as worn or damaged cutting tools. The position runs production lots, communicates with co-workers regarding production runs and maintains a safe, organized and clean work environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES
  • Read and Interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals specifications or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations and set up.
  • Performs programming or program editing at machine controls if needed.
  • Completes all inspection documentation in a timely and accurate manner
  • Reports non-conformances to Quality department.
  • Must understand and practice geometric tolerance
  • Must be proficient with gauges and measuring instruments
  • Meet tolerance requirements by setting gauges and measuring instruments appropriately verifies conformance of finished work piece to correct specifications
  • Perform preventative maintenance on machines, equipment and tools
  • Confers with engineers, production personnel and programmers to resolve machining issues
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English as primary language)
  • General working knowledge in shop mathematics
  • Base understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Stands, walks and bends 100% of the time, lifts up to 50 pounds manually, uses material handling equipment
  • Minimum 3 years experience
