Laboratory Technician's​ Needed
 
On-Board Services, a Family-Owned U.S. Based Professional Staffing and Search Firm, is in search for Laboratory Technician's for a Leading Chemical Manufacturing Fortune 500 Client in  Johnston, IA area.
 
The Labortory Technisican's will  assist technical personnel in general laboratory operations and routine laboratory or information handling tasks in support of scientific research. 
 
The schedule for this position is Monday to Friday, from 8 AM to 4:30 PM. This position is available for 12 months and then will be re-evaluated for perm job offer.

Responsibilities: 
  • Receive, process, and distribute seed and seed materials for Regulatory and other groups as requested.
  • Label and organize seed in long-term storage so that seed can be quickly and accurately identified and retrieved.
  • Identifies issues found with seed during handling that may affect study outcome and communicates those issues to the appropriate manager.
  • Assist with grain diet prep work, which may include weighing out ingredients, mixing, packing, sampling and shipping diets to outside contractors for Seeds Regulatory Science (SRS) animal feeding studies.
  • Assist with receiving of bulk grain lots , which includes recording the weights of each container, taking grain samples and testing moisture.
  • Assist with cleaning, performing particle size, and grinding of grain samples. Supports other various functional groups within the SRS Department to ensure that critical operating tasks can be completed within their given deadlines.
  • Assist with verifying that study documentation is correct and complete, and GLP (Good Laboratory Practices)-compliant as needed.
  • Follow safety policies, protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.

Qualifications:
  • With guidance from supervision, primary responsibility is to complete routine laboratory tasks in support of scientific research both independently and in team environments.
  • Self motivated and able to work in a fast pace environment with changing priorities.
  • Perform tasks according to accepted methods and training prescribed by the work group.
  • Excellent communication with strong attention to detail.
  • Good organization and computer skills with Microsoft Office knowledge.
  • Required to do physical lifting (up to 50 lbs) on a daily basis. this will be for bags of seed. heights will range from on the floor to overhead including twisting motions when taking bags off carts and setting on shelves.
  • Stand for long periods at a time and work in varying ergonomic environments.
  • Valid Iowa drivers license to transport and pick up seed between various seed storage locations.
  • I client owned half-ton pickup will most often be used, but worker's personal vehicle will be used if client vehicle is unavailable.
  • Travel will be mostly in the Johnston area and occasionally to Sheldall.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM
Duration: 12 Month Contract to Perm
