Hiring a Contract Mechanical Engineer
Duration: 2 month Assignment 
Client Location:  Sparks, MD
Work Schedule:  Monday - Friday / 40 Hours Weekly
Pay Rate:  $20.80 Hourly 

The Engineer I supports the key business objectives of the assigned plant (Growth, Profitability, and Innovation). Through production support and assigned plant specific projects, the associate drives activities to deliver upon these objectives. Through the execution of deliverables, the Engineer I is familiar with and capable of performing in many key areas defining the duties and responsibilities of this role.

The following duties and responsibilities represent the areas of work focus and related typical proficiency:

Duties and Responsibilities:
Troubleshooting Manufacturing Issues and general floor support across production lines - Assists with limited products and processes implemented in the assigned plant
Manufacturing Fabrication Methods such as Castings, Injection Molding, Sheet Metal, Machined components. - Basic familiarity of some manufacturing methods and their applications
Application of Transfer functions during troubleshooting and production support (i.e. Statistical Tolerance Analysis, Design for Six Sigma) - Familiarity with a limited set of methods used to analyze parts and subsystems
Understanding of Manufacturing Statistical methods, such as process capability and Design of Experiments - Familiarity with limited statistical tools used to assist in development and troubleshooting of products and processes.
Project Management leadership in areas focusing on design changes, process improvements, outsourcing, material cost reduction, and other plant efficiency efforts. - Familiarity with basic project requirements and schedules
Core Team Member Representation in assigned plant - Familiarity with the NPI process and can support the execution of plans with the guidance of a more senior level engineer
Implementation of Client Processes, which include Deviations, Engineering Change Orders - Familiarity with basic project requirements and schedules
CAPA Execution - Familiarity with the process and supports CAPA owners with the execution of specific tasks
Engineering Standards such as ASME Y15.4 - Understands and can apply some elements of various standards to engineering drawings. Typically requires significant oversight from a more senior level engineer
ISO compliance, FDA 21 CFR 820 compliance, and cGMP efforts - Some familiarity with FDA and ISO regulations and cGMP. Requires significant oversight from SME to ensure compliance in all applicable areas
Computer Aided Design work - Basic understanding of major CAD modules. Ability to create models simple models, assemblies, and drawings with guidance from SME.
Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing - Basic familiarity with GD&T specifications. Requires significant guidance from SME.
Technical Writing skills as applied to manufacturing documentation and process development – Some exposure to the creation and revision of technical documentation. Receives significant guidance from SME
Agency Compliance (General knowledge) - Little or no experience with agency or compliance requirements
Agency Compliance Engineer - Little or no experience with agency or compliance requirements
Obsolescence Management – Able to select and design replacement components
Software Skills – Some exposure or little experience (?1 year) with software skills.
Carries out all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills:

Candidate or incumbent must have engineering and management knowledge and skills as follows:

Able to organize and prioritize assignments as a participant to assigned functional teams (minimum 1 year working in a team environment)
Able to maintain strategic and tactical interaction with local leaders and unit level leaders.
Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills across all levels.
Supports change management within function
Familiarity with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 21 CFR 820 and International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
