On-Board Services, a Family-Owned U.S. Based Professional Staffing and Search Firm, is assisting one of the largest chemical companies with a search for an Engineering Technical Writer.

Duration: 5 Month Assignment
Pay Rate: $50 to $60 per hr
Client Location: Fortune 500 Client in in Wilmington, DE

Work Schedule: 8 AM to 5 PM Monday to Friday
Benefits: ACA Compliant Medical Insurance

Screenings: Candidates cannot begin an assignment without successful drug and background clearances


The Engineering Technical Writer will update current project system documents to fill gaps in information, bring clarity and simplicity.  Design and implement within a Sharepoint environment to deliver a robust process that is easy to understand and use.  Enhance the process further through connections into our EcoSys project managing system.  This effort will require reaching out to the organization to understand current state of the many processes, to engage to define and design the processes.  Bring creativity to the project system considering newer ways to serve up and communicate information.

Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements preferred, including NFPA, CFR, and EPA.
  • Understands industrial process systems, safety requirements, and equipment.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Sharepoint, Excel, Word, with the ability to quickly learn other programs.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; verbal and written.
  • Ability to prepare and write descriptive documents using publishing tools and writer guidelines.
  • Three (3) years of experience in an industrial setting; process/product chemical engineering or operations, or power plant operations, depending on type of experience.
 Responsibilities:
  • Applies skilled operations and maintenance knowledge to create, maintain, or revise work standards and procedures which support LNG plant operations, programs, and regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluates requested or proposed changes to procedures; researches technical manuals, vendor specifications, station policies, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance.
  • Understands and follows maintenance best practices, governmental regulations, and related technical and safety codes.
  • With guidance, coordinates the review, comment resolution, and approval of procedures with user departments and management.
  • May assist in regulatory audits when required.
  • Maintains a detailed matrix of all plant procedures and ensures they are routed, reviewed, and published on time to meet regulatory requirements.
