  • Looking for HR Generalist, HR Specialist, Payroll, Benefits, Tax/Audit Specialist are valued skill sets. 

  • Responsible for the auditing of the US bi-weekly payroll; assist with Canada payroll where applicable
  • Process new hires and terminations; monitor terminations and ensure compliance with state termination laws
  • Monitor salary increases for retroactive payments and perform the calculation
  • Research, analyze and resolve payroll related inquiries; responsible for Payroll mailbox
  • Assist with the registration of tax withholding accounts
  • Prepares time files for payroll and maintains an understanding of the Time and Attendance Systems; understands pay rules for each plant
  • Time management administrator – attend training and take ownership of the maintenance of Holiday rules set up, Users setup, troubleshoot issues with access
  • Prepares spreadsheets for payroll processing; runs payroll reporting
  • Completes monthly summary of union dues form and ensures union dues are calculated correctly
  • Responsible for processing a variety of payroll related entries and ensure payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely
  • Maintains the weekly notice of change direct deposit report
  • Assist the Payroll Supervisor and HRIS Administrator in maintaining a high level of productivity within the department
  • Review Payroll Precheck files for accuracy
  • Reviews all payroll transaction forms and determines that the necessary data has been utilized from each form in order to maintain correct payroll files.
  • Calculates and processes final pay out of benefit time due to employee upon termination.
  • Assists the payroll supervisor in balancing the tax figures for each bi-weekly payroll and preparing the necessary forms and check requests for payment of these taxes.
  • Brings to the attention of the department supervisor any unusual problems with regard to the preparation of paychecks.
  • Maintains a total understanding of all policies and union contracts and regulations as they related to the employee’s paychecks.
  • Respond to day to day payroll and HRIS questions
  • Where possible, recommend streamlined processes for Payroll and HRIS
  • Review weekly benefit files to ensure accuracy of benefit deductions / troubleshoot any issues
  • Assist with HRIS reporting
  • Assist HRIS with mass updates in UltiPro while ensuring data integrity
  • Additional responsibilities and benefits support where needed
  • Works cohesively with the local team and broader Human Resources team
