The company: Our client is a multinational corporation active in the fields of health, nutrition and materials. The Nutrition cluster is made up of Nutritional Products and Food Specialties. Nutritional Products produces essential nutrients such as synthetic vitamins, carotenoids, nutritional lipids and other ingredients for the feed, food, pharmaceutical and personal care industries.  Food Specialties manufactures food enzymes, cultures, yeast extracts, savory flavors, hydrocolloids and other specialty ingredients for the dairy, baking, beverage and savory segments.

The Materials cluster is made up of Engineering Plastics, Resins & Functional Materials.  Engineering Plastics’ specialty plastics are used in components for the electrical and electronics, automotive, flexible food packaging and consumer goods industries. Resins & Functional Materials manufacture resins solutions for paints, inks, stereolithography, and industrial and optical fiber coatings.

Description:
Work hours are 7:00am to 3:30pm, Monday – Friday.

Purpose of the job 

The Quality Control Technician provides quality control services to produce high quality DSM Dyneema products in a cost effective manner while maintaining excellent safety, human relations, and environmental standards. Tests all raw materials, intermediate and finished products for adherence to quality specifications. 

Job Context 

The Quality Control Technician will provide quality testing expertise for raw and finished product materials. The person in this role will interact with all local staff. They will ensure that laboratory procedures and equipment are kept in superior working order. Handling and disposing of Hazard waste and chemicals are part of normal activities.

Ensures all work is conducted in a safe and effective manner and all applicable procedures and policies are followed. Takes action to correct unsafe acts, systems and procedures. Complies with all job-related safety and other training requirements. 

Utilizes testing equipment and associated data acquisition systems. Assist in analyzing test data to determine acceptability, identify deviations, and make appropriate notification. 

Prepares quality related documents and reports as required. Processes data regarding components, intermediate, and finished products. Maintains quality data in tracing and tracking systems. 

Verifies and documents batch records and logbooks associated with testing. 

Monitors and analyzes daily testing production. Analyzes data generated by the Q-laboratories and identify trends. Reports variances as required. 

Support ADTS and development engineers with Q knowledge/data. 

Participates in quality investigations as needed. Works with a team, ensures all appropriate actions assigned are accomplished in a timely manner. 

Prepares, reviews, and approves Quality/production records including operating/testing procedures, and JSA’s as required. 

Follows current waste disposal procedures and prevention procedures. Ensures proper storage and disposal of liquid and solid hazardous wastes. 

Follows current SOP’s for testing routine and non-routine samples of raw material, intermediate, and finished products. 

Follow established policies regarding sample and documentation retention. 

Knowledge and educational level 

High school diploma and at least 1 year experience in quality or manufacturing environment in related technical field. An interest in textiles and QC is a plus. 

Required level of experiences 

• Ability to communicate with team members effectively 
• Ability to drive improvements in Q-lab activities. 
• Analytical skills, Report writing. Knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications including Excel, Outlook and Access. 
• Accurate work attitude. Must be willing to respond to all types of emergencies and spend overtime hours in achieving objectives set for customer satisfaction or business goals. 
• Experience working in regulated environment (ISO 9001, GMP. Etc.)

Pay Rate: $16.00 per hour
