Electrical Instrument Engineer: This position is for an I&C Discipline engineer supporting life science business projects.Able to prepare electrical schematics for instruments, controls, electrical devices and pumps and motors. Prepares engineering designs, specifications, and technical recommendations necessary to support procurement and construction activities under the direction of the lead I&C engineer. Understand 480 VAC and 120 VAC power. Able to to design life safety systems, fire alarm, telecom and other low voltage systems. Develop loop wiring diagrams and understand PLC/DCS hardware. Effective communication skills for interface with project team members and with the customer. Ability to manage multiple tasks while working with various types of people. Fluent knowledge of English language. Secondary language skills could be an asset. . Qualifications BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, with backgrounds in Control Systems or Instrumentation is required Engineer in Training Registration is desired Instrument data sheet development Control panel design and wiring Bus technology experience for instrumentation such as Foundation Fieldbus, Profibus Ethernet IP, Devicenet, ASI or equal Ability to read and understand schematic diagrams, P&ID prints, and control systems. Must have basic knowledge of DCS and PLC systems. Technical knowledge of instrumentation selection and specification Capable of writing technical specifications to support projects AutoCAD or equal experience Instrumentation database project execution such as Intools or equal. Review and purchase of I&C equipment and systems. 3-D design experience for I&C equipment and installation support. Will work on projects in a team environment and must be able to collaborate effectively. Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills and be proficient in the development of project documentation (including project scope of work, functional and technical requirements, instrumentation data sheets, construction specifications, control strategy). Must be able to read technical requirements documents Quality requirements and management for I&C project execution. Experience in the design of control systems, networks, bus IO subsystems, control panels, wiring diagrams, and related control equipment for process automation. Possess basic knowledge and the application of applicable instrumentation-related codes, standards, and regulations including ISA, NEC, GAMP, API, ISO, and IEC. Capable of develop installation details such as conduit, tubing, and communications networks. Possess a strong technical background and experience in all areas of instrumentation and controls.
