The Production Supervisor reviews daily production schedule to plan work and personnel assignments.

This is a 1 year contract assignment. Rate of pay $33.60.

Responsibilities: 
  • Direct and supervise production personnel in performing operations according to quality and manufacturing standards and policies and procedures.
  • Determine direct labor staffing needs, to include notifying Human Resources of temporary staffing needs.
  • Orientate new production personnel to the production area and assure proper training is provided to meet all company policies and manufacturing procedures. 
  • Supervise production staff by coaching, counselling and disciplining employees, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Apply company employee personnel policies in dealing with employees, and ensure policies and procedures are followed.
  • Assist Manufacturing Engineering in the training and certification of production personnel.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and Quality to develop and sign off manufacturing procedures.
  • Control costs by reducing scrap, ensuring standards are met, increase efficiencies in the manufacturing processes and looking for alternatives to existing components.
  • Responsible for the completeness of the product traceability traveler, as well as signoff for manufacturing scrap.
  • Coordinate manufacturing resources to meet the master production schedule.
  • Issue job travelers and inventory to WIP as required.
  • Support Manufacturing through coordination of leads and assemblers, training on various processes, supporting documentation, monitoring manufacturing performance and assembling high-quality medical devices in accordance with procedures to meet production schedules.
  • All Other Essential Duties as directed. 

Qualifications:
  • Two year college or technical degree, with 3+ years related experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 2+ years supervisory experience.
  • Experience in a medical device manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Knowledge and implementation of Lean Manufacturing is a plus.
  • Well developed skills in decision making and problem solving.
  • Knowledge of personal computers.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, both verbally and written.
  • Must be able to work effectively with a diverse workforce.
  • Knowledge of inventory control, production control and quality training.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work flow.
