Manufacturing Laboratory Technician Needed

On-Board Services, a Family-Owned U.S. Based Professional Staffing and Search Firm, is in search for Manufacturing Laboratory Technician for a Leading Chemical Manufacturing Fortune 500 Client in Rockland, ME.
 
The Manufacturing Laboratory Technician will perform physical and microbiological testing of finished products, intermediate product and experimental blends to ensure shipment of products are within Corporations specifications and federal regulations. The Technician follows safe work practices and lives daily with safety in mind by participating in plant safety programs and regular communication.
 
The schedule for this position is Monday to Friday, from 7:30 AM to 4 PM. This position is available for 6 months and then will be re-evaluated for possible extension.

Pay Rate: $18 per hour

Manufacturing Laboratory Technician Responsibilities: 
  • Perform product quality tests consistently and accurately.
  • Report test results in a timely manner and maintain accurate records of test results.
  • Conduct physical testing on samples being held under the shelf-life program.
  • Conduct microbiological testing on intermediate and finished products.
  • Administrative duties when needed.
  • General Lab Support
  • Calibrate and maintain basic laboratory test equipment and facilities, as scheduled.
  • Communicate equipment problems to Lab Coordinator/Quality Manager and obtain proper support to resolve problems.
  • Adhere to the Quality and Food Safety Management System (QFSMS) and help ensure that the Quality Laboratories are ready for internal and external audits.
  • Be responsible for seeking out training and development needs to perform job effectively.
 
Qualifications/Requirements
  • High School degree or GED.
  • Associates/Bachelor of Science degree preferred.
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in word processing, data entry.
  • Laboratory experience is a plus.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Work schedule flexibility, including weekend lab coverage.
  • Performs laboratory analyses/operations such as for product quality, in-process samples, effluents, materials testing, etc. in support of manufacturing operations, and/or supports chemists, etc. in operations of laboratories, test/pilot facilities and in performing laboratory analyses.
