Professional Services Implementation (Health Economics and Outcomes Research)
This is a 12 Month contract assignment
Location: Franklin Lakes, NJ

The research associate will supplement internal competencies within the CoE to continue to build internal capabilities to assess and demonstrate the value of medical devices and diagnostics developed, manufactured and sold by BD. A key responsibility of this role will be to assist in the design and execution of a variety of HEOR studies and tools that can be utilized by country-level staff to support BD businesses.
Working closely with the leader of the HEOR Corporate CoE and HEOR team, the associate will perform various HEOR projects to inform the development of future evidence and tools required to achieve market access. Key projects could include designing HEOR models and tools to support marketing, developing global value dossiers, supporting peer-reviewed research initiatives, data analytics, secondary research, etc. These HEOR project initiatives will help healthcare providers deliver cost-effective solutions in a variety of regional settings using BD products. This will require a good working knowledge of the range of healthcare environments, and ability to interact effectively with teams.
Support in-house economic studies, including literature reviews, epidemiological studies, data analysis, economic modeling, etc.
Contribute to development of business strategy and health economics tools to influence marketing, sales and reimbursement strategies, by applying HEOR analyses
Education and Experience:
A postgraduate degree such as PhD, Pharm D, MBA or MPH in the area of Health Economics, or equivalent level of demonstrated experience is required. Experience with effectiveness and outcomes research skills is also required. Expertise and hands-on experience in both the academic and business spheres is preferred. 1-3 years of post-training experience is also preferred. Candidate must be eligible to work full-time in the US.
Knowledge and Skills:
•Effective analytical/problem solving skills, including generation of original and innovative ideas and solutions
•Action-oriented, customer-focused, with effective prioritization, goal-setting and time management skills
•Effective interpersonal skills; projection of professional image and credibility; teamwork oriented and inclusive
•Competence in carrying out a variety of HEOR studies using a range of standard techniques, including budget impact and cost-effectiveness models
•Competence in decision-analytic modeling and statistical analyses, including expertise in use of Microsoft Excel
•Record of peer-reviewed publication of original work in HEOR is desirable
•Experience in the design and programming of claims analysis and observational studies is desirable (SAS or equivalent)
•Effective oral communication skills, including experience in teaching and training staff on the basic principles of health economic models preferred
