Mechanical Engineering Consultant

On-Board Services, a Family-Owned U.S. Based Professional Staffing and Search Firm, is in search for a Mechanical Engineering Consultant for Leading Chemical Fortune 500 Client in Richmond, VA. This is a special project role, and will be working on a 12 month contract.
The Mechanical Engineering Consultant will lead the mechanical design effort for in house projects, electro-mechanical development programs and/or manufacturing support initiatives.

Schedule: Monday to Friday from 8AM to 4:30 PM
Location: Richmond, VA 23234
  • Reports to and takes primary assignment from area Mechanical Reliability Engineer.
  • Maintains all Company safety requirements, system accesses and security to perform job.
  • Communicate with Vendors, SME, mechanics, operators and attend pertinent meetings to complete design tasks.
  • Maintain proper revisions and File all work in designated server locations.
  • Maintain professional and responsible behavior in the work place.
Qualifications/Must have Experience:
  • Must have experience leading the mechanical design effort for in house projects, electro-mechanical development programs and/or manufacturing support initiatives.
  • Leads the preparation of conceptual design, provide overall design discipline leadership and coordinate within their functional processes.
  • Communicates with construction, operations, and maintenance to make sure their needs are being addressed during the design process.
  • Position requires learning and understanding of the Organizations project system and/or the mechanical development process, intimate knowledge of computer aided engineering tools, including the advanced design tools, along with the technical expertise required for their discipline.
  • Coordinates the design, develops design estimates and tracks E&HO costs during the design process.
  • Mentors less experienced engineers, designers, or contractors and works with outside firms influencing their products to improve the value .
