Position:Manufacturing Laboratory Technicians
Duration: 3 Month Assignment
Client Location: Fortune 500 Client New Century, KS 66031

Pay Rate: $18.30 /per hour
Benefits: ACA Compliant Medical Insurance
Screenings: Candidates cannot begin an assignment without successful drug and background clearances


Purpose of position:
  • Performs laboratory analyses/operations such as for product quality, in-process samples, effluents, materials testing, etc. in support of manufacturing operations, and/or supports chemists, etc. in operations of laboratories, test/pilot facilities and in performing laboratory analyses.
Qualifications
  • Knowledgeable about the analyses and tests performed in the Quality Control Lab
  • Minimum of two years related work and an Associates’ degree in chemistry or biology
  • Perform analyses as outlined in the technical manual for the Quality Control department

Responsibilities 
•Apply knowledge of laboratory equipment to properly analyze samples.
•Demonstrate correct procedures by applying ability to interpret technical manuals, test methods as well as written and oral instructions.
Basic math skills and the ability to work independently will be necessary in this role.
•Ability to learn correct instrumentation set-up, preventative maintenance, operations, programming and troubleshooting, therein.
•Maintain lab orderliness and readiness of chemicals, apparatus, equipment and instrumentation for routine testing needed during appropriate production runs.
•Apply knowledge concerning chemical, safety and sanitation procedures, as well as accurate, timely analysis in a safe organized manner.
•Demonstrate ability to learn new job skills. •Apply willingness to give temporary support to other shifts or coworkers.
Support overtime and shift coverage.
•Responsible for proper disposal of chemical wastes in the QC Lab.
•Must be computer knowledgeable with the ability to operate basic programs as they function for the QC department.
•Participation as a team player to help resolve issues.
Learn the basic in house process and product requirements.
Demonstrate ability to retrieve data and present data.
•To be motivated toward general lab duties. i.e., cleaning, glassware, storage, sampling, inspection solvent preparation, filing, storage, computer updating.
•Apply knowledge about analysis and tests performed by Quality control and to possess the skills to accurately perform these tests in a timely, organized manner, which includes the use of a daily logbook.
•Show competency through the training process in regards to following the worklists and executing the tests as required.
•Ability to lift 50 lbs. may be required during product inspection, moving equipment, placing chemicals or retains to storage.
•Ability to work overtime when required.
•Other functions as required (non-essential functions). •RCRA Hazardous Waste

Additional Responsibilities
  • Correct labeling of any lab waste container and emptying of these containers into accumulation drums located in the 90-day hazardous waste storage area while wearing appropriate PPE.
  • Updating the Hazardous Waste Log.
  • Ensure adherence to all management systems including, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 and Food Safety, with an understanding of Quality and Environmental Policies and procedures.
  • Responsible that these policies and procedures are implemented throughout the organization and all related activities under the position’s
