Hiring a Contract Packaging Engineer
Duration: 12+ Months
Client Location:  Plymouth, MI
Work Schedule:  M-F / 40 Hour Weekly
Benefits: ACA Compliant Medical Insurance
Our client is looking for a Packaging Engineer. The Packaging Engineer will be responsible for multiple North America launching programs packaging engineering development and packaging program management of inbound components.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Utilize Packaging Engineering systems to process supplier packaging proposals.
  • Facilitate and recommend packaging solutions based on current automotive industry best practices.
  • Promote the use of standardized packaging concepts within manufacturing facilities and supplier locations.
  • Design, develop and approve component and finished goods packaging that supports quality, ergonomics and lowest landed cost initiatives throughout the supply chain.
  • Work with various levels of plant teams to improve packaging launch execution 
Qualifications:
  • 5 years plus Automotive Packaging Engineering Experience
  • Experience with Packaging Engineering design software or CAD systems
  • A degree in packaging or related area is highly desirable
  • Detail oriented, hands on and strong organizational skills
  • Team Oriented and good communication skills
  • Leadership, interdependent partnering and conflict & change management skills
  • Travel: 20% to 30% depending on demand
