Qualifications:


The Controls Specialist is responsible for project management, system specifications, creation and updating of programs and interfaces for new and existing projects.
 Works with Engineering, Maintenance and Production Departments throughout the process to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of all automated systems functions.
 • BS/BA degree or equivalent work experience. High School Diploma required.
 Must be familiar with company, state and federal safety and electrical regulations.
 • 3-5 year(s) Industrial and manufacturing maintenance experience is required.
A background in a CPG environment is highly desirable.
• Good verbal and written communications abilities, analytical skills, computer literacy to include software for business performance reporting (MS Word, Excel, SAP)

Responsibilities:
• Collaborates with Engineering, Maintenance and Production Departments to create/configure the HMI interface in accordance with the PLC programs.
 • Ensure employees are following corporate-defined safety, quality, hygiene, GMP’s and environmental standards through day-to-day interaction, inspections, and training of personnel.
• Programming PAC/PLC’s as needed.
 • Identifies and implements continuous improvement and cost savings opportunities for programming and interfaces through TPM methodologies.
Actively engages in a leadership role with teams.
Leads and/or participates in TPM activity in the plant to include ensuring incidents reports (root cause analysis) are completed per procedure.
 • Ensures that other associates working with programming and interfaces are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated through development and coaching so that production can be accomplished in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner.
 • Must be available to come into plant when called if plant downtime issues are related to his/her expertise and project responsibilities
. • Must calibrate Instrumentation P.I.D loops containing load cells; LVDT’s pressure transducers, and flow elements that interface with PLC’s.
Ability to read and draw prints. (Line to Line) and identify problems in circuitry.
• Strong technical problem solving to include troubleshooting activities relating to equipment failures, process issues, quality and/or environmental issues
. • Must be able to perform software upgrades and management of the laptop computer upgrades as needed to include Virtual Machines.
• Works with outside technical support as liaison for communication through proper channels of management groups.
