The company: 
Our client is a global healthcare company. The Company offers health solutions through its prescription medicines, vaccines, biologic therapies and animal health products. It operates through four segments: Pharmaceutical, Animal Health, Healthcare Services and Alliances. The Company's Pharmaceutical segment includes human health pharmaceutical and vaccine products marketed either directly by the Company or through joint ventures. Human health pharmaceutical products consist of therapeutic and preventive agents, generally sold by prescription, for the treatment of human disorders. The Company sells its human health pharmaceutical products primarily to drug wholesalers and retailers, hospitals, government agencies and managed healthcare providers, such as health maintenance organizations, pharmacy benefit managers and other institutions. Vaccine products consist of preventive pediatric, adolescent and adult vaccines, primarily administered at physician offices.

Qualifications:
Demonstrate leadership and teamwork skills. Excellent analytical abilities and solid base in biochemical, biological and/or chemical engineering fundamentals. Proven communication skills.

B.S., M.S. or PhD in chemical or biomechanical engineering

B.S. Min 4 yrs experience; M.S. min 3 yrs experience, PhD Min 0-2 years.

Successful performance requires a sound basic knowledge of the individual scientific discipline and the ability to apply fundamental principles and techniques to the problems assigned.

Preferred: • Previous experience working with protein purification utilizing AKTA/Unicorn systems • Experience performing analytical work including HPLC/UPLC (Waters/Empower), ELISA methods, SDS-PAGE, cIEF, qPCR and/or other protein characterization and biophysical methods • Experience working in a GLP and/or GMP environment 

Responsibilities: 
• Under the direction of a staff member, take the lead on assigned research problems contributing to the attainment of a defined research objective.
• The nature of the work performed by the incumbent will normally be the solution of specific aspects of complex research problems.
• The candidate will have experience with biochemical laboratory tools and techniques used for protein purification (such as microfiltration, tangential flow filtration, chromatography, gel electrophoresis, etc.).

The individual will be able to independently and proactively execute procedures and experimental objectives in a timely and detail oriented manner. In addition, responsibilities will include execution of various bioanalytical techniques. 

Pay Rate: $39 - $42 per hour
