Equipment Services Technician:
Perform repairs and troubleshooting of equipment for equipment service requests received from customers, distributors, engineers, and other departments. Works within department guidelines and policies to achieve department goals and objectives.
 
High school education required. Associates Degree or experience a technical field desired.
 
Desire to pursue advanced technical education is preferred. Must have good mechanical aptitude. Good communications and interpersonal skills necessary.
 
The ability to run machining equipment is desirable.
 A working knowledge of computer software for work processing and spreadsheets is required.



Responsibilities:
A. Performs detailed troubleshooting and repair of equipment for external customers and internal departments  per the guidelines and specifications established.
B. Perform inventory transactions within SAP and the Equipment Services Notes database in support of equipment repairs, rental stock, loaner stock, used equipment sales, and calibrations.
 C. Estimate costs to repair equipment per department costing policies.
D. Disposition and stage equipment to be sent out to the field for the rental and loaner programs.
E. Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
F. Execute the purchase of lab supplies and repair stock in support of Equipment Services functions.
G. Operate various machinery (shear press, band saw, drill press, etc.
) H. Set up / operate / calibrate / maintain instrumentation used to characterize  products and equipment.
I. May be required to provide back up assistance for equipment applications that require advanced trouble shooting. J. May be required to travel to customer sites to repair and troubleshoot equipment.
K. Phone responsibilities in the Equipment Service Technical Support queue may occupy occasional daily activities.
