Qualifications:
  • A high school diploma is required.
  • College courses or vocational training desired.
  • The position requires prior administrative support experience, including the ability to utilize Microsoft Office 365 (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook Exchange).
  • Must be able to operate a computer and peripheral equipment.
  • Business application software including spreadsheets, database and word processing skills is required.
  • Must possess intermediate math skills and be able to operate a calculator.
  • Excellent oral and written skills required.
  • Any prior experience administering internal SDG&E programs (e.g., SAP, Archibus, SHOP, MyTime, etc.) is desired.

Responsibilities:
  • This administrative associate position supports a large, fast-paced environmental construction-compliance program for SDG&E out of our Alpine, CA field office.
  • We are seeking a talented, motivated individual to join our busy team for a long-term assignment.
  • The work environment at this field office is casual in appearance, centered on good humor and mutual respect for all staff, and requires a high-performer with a professional attitude and the ability to successfully interface with many kinds of people.
  • Much of the work for this position is completed independently, and requires personal initiative, social competence, and the ability to multi-task and successfully manage a complex personal work schedule.
  • There are also opportunities for leading special projects requiring advanced skills and coordination with employees and contractors from other business units.

  • Any prior experience administering internal SDG&E programs (e.g., SAP, Archibus, SHOP, MyTime, etc.) is desired.
  • The position requires prior administrative support experience, including the ability to utilize Microsoft Office 365 (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook Exchange).
  • The position directly supports a professional team of four SDG&E environmental compliance employees, including scheduling and administering meetings, setting up calls, proofing and providing written correspondence (e.g., e-mails, memorandums, letters, etc.) for Supervisor signature to resource agencies and other business support departments, monitoring and managing calendars, and providing daily support with a highly variable administrative workload.
  • The position also supports a team of 15+ environmental consultants who provide staff augmentation project support directly from the Alpine field office.
  • Additional tasks typically include making travel arrangements, distributing and managing incoming and outgoing mail, entering employee reimbursements through the SDG&E SAP process, tracking invoice approvals and payments, scheduling team meetings utilizing Outlook, reserving conference rooms and additional meeting spaces located in and outside of the Alpine field office, maintaining a well-equipped office, ordering and procuring additional supplies utilizing the corporate SHOP program, assisting with record retention, and occasionally working with IT support to resolve office equipment issues.
  • The position works as part of a functional team with two other administrative associates located in the SDG&E Century Park Office, and training in specific internal databases and processes is available from this team.
  • In addition, the position supports planning and implementation of annual Department events including Safety Stand Downs, All-Hands Meetings and other Director-led events.
