Accounting Analyst

This entry-level role will be a key member of the Accounting Department providing detailed analysis and support for selected month end close and reporting processes.

Responsibilities:

Employee Compensation and Benefits Accounting:
  • Download ADP Payroll reports and prepare journal entries to record payroll in the General Ledger
  • Reconcile payroll, tax, and 401K per ADP and Fidelity reports to bank statements, researching discrepancies
  • Calculate and prepare journal entries for various compensation and benefit items including bonus, taxes, benefits allocations, etc.
  • Download detail of Supplemental Staff invoices and prepare journal entries to charge-out expenses to benefiting cost centers
Sales Discounts and Allowances Accounting:
  • Track Medicaid claims data against invoices paid to third parties for completeness of the database
  • Compile claims data reports of various formats into a single database and analyze the accuracy of data, testing for over/under accruals based on pricing and unit conversions
  • Develop quarterly trend reports to better correlate Medicaid claims with original sales
General Accounting:
  • Maintain contracts database
  • Maintain the electronic filing system of completed journal entries, account reconciliations and other control documentation
  • Support ad hoc report requests to analyze data from Oracle Cloud ERP and other sources
  • Assume additional tasks and projects as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or relevant field
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience in Accounting
  • Excellent Excel skills including VLOOKUP, Pivot tables, etc. and experience analyzing and manipulating large data sets
  • Familiarity with financial systems, Oracle and Hyperion preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaborate across functions
