"Am I Qualified?"
Do you have a Bachelors or Masters Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering? Yes!  Great, keep reading!

Do you have at least 4 years or more of broad Project Engineering/Project Management experience in a Chemical Plant environment leading capital projects from Front End Loading (FEL) / Scope Development and cost estimates to schedule development, to coordinating construction activities to commissioning support? Yes!  Great, this job may be for you!

Do you have chemical process design experience (equipment sizing and selection)? Yes!  Excellent!

"What will I do in this Job?"

As a Project Engineer / Project Manager / Hero / Miracle Worker =) you will develop and manage capital projects for a single Chemical Plant Site with individual projects typically ranging from $50k - $2.0 Million. Your projects will be related to Chemical process production and include things like adding reactors and storage tanks, specifying piping layouts, and utilities. You will be responsible for all aspects of project management of the capital projects from conceptual scope development, detailed design, management of the design team, construction management, leading the start-up and commissioning activities.  Each day you will find yourself reviewing project proposals, interacting with site team members, determining specifications and cost estimates, creating and updating project schedules, controlling costs, preparing progress reports, and seeing that the projects are completed on-time and within budget.  In other words, your specific duties will include items such as interacting with the plant personnel, gathering information, developing and costing conceptual solutions, detailed design, safety design, developing project justifications and cost estimates, schedule development, and cost management. You will also be responsible for development of construction packages, equipment and contractor procurement, coordination of construction activities, and for startup and commissioning activities. You will need to be self-motivated and be able to work as a part of a team or independently on multiple concurrent projects while reporting to a remote manager. You will be expected to have proficiency in Excel, MS Word, MS Project, cost estimating programs, and AutoCad. There will probably be lots of stress when things break down, budgets get cut, and contractors have delays, but through all the stress you can always be satisfied in knowing you can also play the role of the hero, take the lead, and get it done right!
