This request is to procure consultant services for the EAM Wi Fi Implementation Project to work on behalf of Client IT. The Client IT, EAM Wi Fi Group has retained consultant services since April 2016 as we continue the deployment of Wi Fi throughout the various agencies. This role is to participate in and/or supervise site surveys for the purpose of cabling estimates, cable and access point (AP) installations, testing, and inspections of the completed work. The consultant would also responsible for creating, maintaining, or updating specific documentation and network diagrams or drawings.

The consultant will work with Client-IT's assigned Project Manager to coordinate with various business units and vendors to ensure that this work is done in a safe and professional manner.

  1. Design LAN/MAN/WAN infrastructure (wired and Wireless) with Copper and Fiber cable plant using Cisco switches and WAPs.
  2. Supervise Ethernet/Fiber cabling installation by vendor in office and field locations.
  3. Ability to create/modify detailed Visio or other network drawings.
  4. Quickly solve moderate level problems relating to network connectivity and performance.
  5. Review and prepare Scope/Specification documents.
  6. Ability to review detailed labor estimates for cabling and make recommendations.

All source files will be provided to the Client.

• Good knowledge of wireless and Wi Fi equipment, installation and system configuration and testing.
• Excellent oral, written, presentation, and communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 2013 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Proficiency with Microsoft SharePoint version 2010 or higher
• Familiarity with Microsoft Project version 2010 or higher
• Excellent inter-personal skills including the ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organization
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to independently set priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment; a self-starter
