Position Description:
Senior Innovation Engineer - Mechanics The main objective for the Senior Innovation Engineer – HL systems is to develop new products to grow our business. The Sr. Engineer will lead all developments that increase the use and functionality of overhead systems. The role works in tandem with business development and engineering functions.
Skills Required:
• Work closely with commercial development team to identify customer needs and product opportunities for overhead systems. • Lead the development process for specific OEMs and Tier 1s for overhead fabrics and composites to meet the required OEM/Tier 1 specifications by effectively leading and engaging cross-functional teams in the design for manufacturing and transfer of products from Research and Development to Operations (Manufacturing).
Skills Preferred:
• Manage and control engineering concerns/issues for the identified OEMs – including SOP creation, specification adherence, DOE creation/execution, statistical analysis and corrective action plans for any identified failures • Develop and maintain product plans for each customer (OEM and Tier) • Interact and drive activities with Outside Processors and Supplier developments to support our product developments.
Experience Required:
• B.S. in Engineering and/or 10+ years in textile development or HL fabrication or other transferable technical development skill, • Specific or general knowledge of the textile manufacturing process including: Yarn and fabric formation processes, surface finishing, lamination and composite development. • Specific or general knowledge in HL forming systems, Automotive validation practices, and supply chain requirements. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills – able to convey concepts and visions to a wide range of audiences
Experience Preferred:
• Very organized, able to prioritize workload and work to tight deadlines for • Ability to work within a team environment both within our company and with customers and suppliers. • Ability to lead projects and cross functional activities. • Show enthusiasm and passion for our business • Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and statistical software
Education Required:
• Position requires travel within and outside of the US to meet with customers and suppliers • Research and connect with technologies that make our products more functional, more valuable, less expensive. • Provide frequent and timely reports and communications to all stakeholders that define our status and open issues.
Education Preferred:
Salary Range: $90-$120K ***DIRECT HIRE***
