This position will serve the RCS Chat application running in the VCP virtual environment and may be tasked to work on new tenant builds and/or daily operation of the application as determined by business needs.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate and oversee routine care and maintenance of Linux/Openstack Application-Deployment/DB Administration as well as debugging techniques for the application and system running as VNF. Participate in VCP tenant build, transport build and external network element interconnection activities as needed to meet the system build and capacity objectives. Ability to comprehend functional system architecture and technical design in order to support the daily application build and run activities. Implement software upgrades including First Office Application (FOA) loads, new application and service deployments and patching of application, OS and supporting apps. Work directly with engineers from the RCS team, as well as, other support teams or vendors as needed to complete build or run activities. Report any issues or opportunities for improvement in application performance, architecture, KPI measures for compute, storage and related transport focusing on reliability, availability and serviceability in virtual and physical environments. Produce written documentation related to the operation and maintenance of the application or operating environment(s). Review, investigate, troubleshoot, close out Remedy trouble tickets and provide escalation support as needed for production service issues in coordination with application and operations teams. Review, approve and implement Methods of Procedures for system changes, and test plan documents for new product or service rollouts. Provide advice, direction and implementation support on Network Security issues to Operations, Engineering, and Management teams to ensure compliance with current policies and vulnerability exploit mitigation efforts. Effectively manage vendor relationship and work with them to ensure their products and services meet Telecommunication' requirements and standards.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work experience 5 years Linux experience required, certification preferred

Experience with application support of cloud-based infrastructure-as-a-service platforms: OpenStack preferred Networking experience including managing load balancers and firewalls, troubleshooting connectivity issues, packet capture and analysis, certification preferred. Experience running applications with backend DB's and servicing application interactions with the DB's such as: Cassandra, Mongo, Maria, Couchbase, Oracle RAC. Experience with configuration management and automation tools such as Ansible Experience with orchestration template technologies such as OpenStack Heat Experience with logging and reporting solutions such as: Logstash, Elasticsearch, and Kibana (ELK), Grafana, or Splunk Familiarity with monitoring tools such as: Irisview, NetScout, Wireshark, SevOne beneficial Knowledge of protocols such as: TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, NFS, Diameter, SIP, MSRP, LDAP, SMPP Experience with logging and reporting solutions such as: Logstash, Elasticsearch, and Kibana (ELK), Grafana, or Splunk Scripting skills desired such as: shell, Python, Yaml, Ruby Experience with Telecommunication processes for submitting configuration requests to various network teams required to complete related system builds a plus Working knowledge of Telecommunication processes and procedures for change requests and network implementation preferred. Experience with wireless Telecom technologies including IMS and SMS/MMS messaging systems a plus Experience managing 3rd party vendor relationships and/or resources. Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrate ability to work with others to achieve project goals. Excellent written and oral communication skills Must be able to effectively manage changing priorities
