The SDN/NFV Orchestration & Assurance Development team is a part of the Corporate Network & Technology organization. This organization is principally concerned with the strategic technology evolution across Telecommunication and wire-line with specific focus on orchestration, service assurance and life cycle management of virtualized network functions.

Focus for this SDN/NFV Orchestration and Assurance VNF Onboarding position is on developing solutions to enable the redesign of day-to-day wireline & wireless network operations functions required to support the SDN/NFV adoption, while incorporating newly defined DevOps functions, an end to end service assurance framework and automation principles to work towards a zero touch operating environment.

Candidate will :
  • Onboard VNFs and build a catalog of operationally ready VNFs and Services to operational ready state using automated Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery tool chain.
  • Work with various Telecommunication Network and Application Planning teams from various business units to identify opportunities to automate manual tasks involved in onboarding a VNF(Virtual Network Function) and automating them using a centralized platform to continuously evolve based on business needs.
  • Work with world-class engineers involved in virtualizing network functions to develop automation with VNF and Service Descriptors to onboard and lifecycle manage the VNFs on OpenStack based Telecommunication Cloud Platform (VCP).

What we're looking for...
You'll need to have:
  • Bachelor's degree or six or more years of work experience.
  • Practical knowledge of cloud-native application architectures
  • Detailed understanding of NFV and SDN products, technologies, architectures, and vendors.
  • Detailed understanding of OpenStack based Cloud Platforms.
  • Knowledge of ETSI NFV Standards for descriptors and interfaces
  • Experience with server provisioning using cloud-init and cloud config.
  • Experience with TOSCA and YAML based file formats.
  • Experience with HOT Template and VNF Descriptors
  • Experience onboarding VNFs on to NFV Orchestrators such as NFV Director and Ericsson Cloud Manager.
  • Detailed knowledge in majority of the following areas:
  • OpenStack CLI commands and administration.
  • Linux/Unix scripting especially for TCP/IP stack, Firewalls (iptables), DNS, VPNs.
  • Programming aptitude in Python, Java scripts, SOAP, Ruby, PHP.
  • API development based on JSON, XML.
  • Good analytical skills, written and verbal communications skills with demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
  • Experience with Ansible
  • Understanding of wireline & wireless IT network operations workflow, procedures and rules of engagement
  • A deep understanding of Datacenter virtualization technologies (servers, networks and software stacks), monitoring tools and processes
  • Proven ability to shape transformation strategies and drive innovative thinking
Even better if you have:
• Proven experience in transforming longstanding procedures within Telecommunication operations organizations.
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly. Ability to perform independent system analysis, design and plan implementation, paying special attention to details and objectives OpenStack CLI commands and administration.
• Linux/Unix scripting especially for TCP/IP stack, Firewalls (iptables), DNS, VPNs etc.
• Familiarity with network device configuration and management (Juniper, Cisco) with NetConf network configuration protocol and YANG data model.
• Experience with CLI configuration of Cisco, Client, or Juniper switches and routers, Palo Alto firewalls, f5 load balancers.
• Networking services consisting of Virtual and Physical Network Functions.
• Familiarity or experience with Open Source technologies and Software Defined Networking principals or system.
