Job Description: Contractor – Outside Plant Construction Specialist

This is a support position in the Delivery Project and Construction – Outside Plant Construction Group.

Perform construction and administrative support for Outside Plant construction project work.

Note: The successful candidates will be responsible for the following job duties at a minimum of two remote reporting locations.

Basic job duties to include, but not limited to the following:
• Coordination, verification and receipt of material and equipment deliveries.
• Support Safety and Environmental training, record completion / tracking for one or more groups of employees and / or remote report locations.
• Support the daily logistics associated w/ managing a remote reporting location;
o Construction vehicle tracking, maintenance and repair schedules.
o Tracking and scheduling equipment testing and repair.
o Facilities maintenance schedules.
o Tracking / logging any OSHA and / or State required documentation.
o Participate / record Company / Union discussions and other items or tasks that support the Distribution Supervisors daily tasks.
• Ensure Contractor compliance with respect to proper invoicing and processing for payment in accordance with Company Policy.

Note: Assignment may evolve to include daily job site inspection of work and site set-ups to ensure completion in accordance with established designs / procedures and safety requirements. In addition, this position may expand to include the submission and holding of Safety Tags in the company Safety Tagging System.


• Exhibit knowledge of computer based engineering and business applications.
• Skilled in MS Office applications (i.e., Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.).
• Must possess demonstrated leadership skills, professionalism and customer/client focus.
• Must possess strong oral and written communication skills.

• Essential:
o High school graduate or equivalent.
o Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.

o Must demonstrate and value differences in others' strengths, perspectives, approaches, and personal choices.
o Willingness to work nights and weekends when required.

• Desirable:
o Experienced in Overhead and Underground Outside Plant Construction and work practices.
o Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Civil, Electrical), or equivalent experience.
o Valid CDL license

The successful individual may be required to provide assistance during storm restoration efforts and may be required to perform functions outside of the above routine duties on a schedule that may be different from normal operations.
