The VCP Core System Operations team's technical responsibilities have grown along with the companies vision of collaboration and consolidation. System Operations Engineers require a technical aptitude that allows them to quickly absorb fluid concepts, that result from upstream collaboration. These concepts often require an adhoc response based on self paced knowledge advancement. SySOPs Engineers' core responsibilities now consist of skill sets that formerly belonged to multiple subject matter experts. To be a successful SySOps Engineer, the individuals must be fluent in system administration, network administration, storage administration, virtualization practices and the latest programming/automation engines. SySOps Engineers must possess soft skills that allow them to communicate with both internal and external resources. Often times engineers will be required to participate in feedback loops with upstream resources that will shape company direction. The preparation for this role will be constant and often reactive. The engineer must be willing to embrace new technologies in an ever-changing culture in order to support Telecommunication cloud strategies.

3-10 Years Advanced Linux Administration
3-10 Years Scripting, Programming (BASH and PYTHON)
3-10 Years automation, configuration management experience. (Ansible, Jenkins, Puppet)
3-10 Years OpenStack Administration (Redhat and Canonical preferred)
3-10 Years Technical Writing (Candidate will be responsible for documenting process and procedure)

DESIRED SKILLS: 3-10 Years Network Virtualization ( Big Cloud Fabric, Nuage)

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS: A qualified candidate should have some Linux Administration certifications. For example, the RHSA I and II, or RHCE would be a positive. OpenStack certifications are also desired, but not required. .
