Engineer- Data - I
JOB DUTIES:

The Engineer will be responsible for end-to-end system Operations for services owned by the team such as Roaming Gateway, Voice-Mail, Ubicell and a few others. The Engineer will be directly responsible for all the Application Servers. The Engineer will assist other teams on Load Balancers, Firewalls, Routers and Switches. The Engineer will review the MOPs with vendors like Mobileum, Samsung, HPE, and Mavenir. The Engineer will coordinate and implement the change control activities impacting the Application Servers including code upgrades, firmware upgrades, configuration changes, migrations, failovers etc.
The Engineer provides weekly status and activity reports to management. The Engineer will review opportunities for process automation/scripting for daily operational tasks etc. The Engineer will assist the planning/design team on Virtualization/VCP efforts on the owned Applications.
The Engineer requires the flexibility to work office-hours and maintenance window hours (as necessary) to maintain and improve operational availability for owned Applications.


MUST HAVE SKILLS:
Proficiency in UNIX/Linux, SunOS, VMWare, OpenStack, Equipment mounting and integration in a NEBS environment; AC and DC power and grounding; IP Routing, TCP/UDP communication; Proficiency in computer hardware and networking; Experience and proficiency with sniffers and networking analysis; SNMP, Radius, Authentication;  Well versed in packet technologies. 

DESIRED SKILLS:
Proficiency in wireless data call flows. Proficiency in  Microsoft Office,  engineering tools & applications such as NetScout, SevOne, SPS. Superior teamwork and leadership skills are essential. Excellent written and oral communication skills.  Ability to work with minimum supervision in an individual and team environment.  1 to 5 years of experience.


EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:
 Bachelor's Degree in Networking or Computer Science or equivalent technical experience. 


REQUIRED SHIFT:
Standard daytime shift, must be available to perform maintenance window activities to support the application/platform needs. Rotates within a 6-person team for one-week
