The Marketing Project Manager is responsible for the planning, management, and reporting of assigned projects within Marketing. To be successful, the Marketing Project Manager will need to build good working relationships with key stakeholders, identify the necessary resources and processes needed to deliver the project objectives, and proactively identify and solve risks and issues that could negatively impact the project. Primary objectives include: developing and managing the marketing project plan based on strategic direction from the Product Marketing Manager, establishing processes for managing the creative pipeline including all approvals for co-branded assets, and providing status updates to key stakeholders and/or leadership. The Marketing Project Manager should also have excellent PowerPoint communication skills as they will responsible for designing presentations of the marketing plans. This person uses industry recognized/generally accepted PM knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to achieve a project's stated objectives. Common deliverables typically include the project charter, project schedule, communication plan, project budget, risk management plan, status updates, reporting, and tracking.
JOB TITLE: Marketing Project Manager
MAJOR TASKS: •Leads larger, more complex projects under close to moderate supervision •Reporting, communications, relationships and sphere of influence typically occur within the team and direct management •Project cycle less than 1 year •Projects are typically individual or Inter-organizational (single department); although some projects may affect several business unit(s) or entire company. •Develops detailed project schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports; tracks key project milestones and adjusts project plans and/or resources to meet needs of customers •Applies PMO standard project management processes and methodologies to ensure marketing plans are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high-quality standards, and meet customer expectations •Reports on project progress throughout the project lifecycle or specific phases •Coordinates the resources necessary to successfully complete the project •Communicates major milestones and identifies potential project risks; conducts regular status meetings to review project activities; manages prioritization procedures •Builds relationships with key stakeholders and project resources to drive key decisions and ensure timely project completion •No travel required •This is a 6-month contract with the opportunity to transition to full-time for the right person You'll need to have: •3 years plus of experience in related field (i.e. change management, process improvement, project management,) or academic equivalent training or projects •Marketing experience is a plus •BS/BA degree in related discipline (i.e. business, marketing, communications) •Demonstrated problem solving and analytical thinking skills •Excellent written and verbal communication skills •Strong skills in MS Office (Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required. Even better if you have: •Experience in marketing and/or the telecommunications industry •Strong Operations background – Metrics, understanding of cost of delivery, "Lean Operations Management”, Quality Initiatives, Standardization Project Management, Critical Path Methodology, etc. •Strong to expert skills in MS-Project •Exceptional interpersonal/people skills including verbal and written communication skills, integrity, sound judgment and decision making ability to all organizational levels. The ability to modify the messaging appropriately to various technical, managerial, and leadership audiences is critical for this position. •Flexible and creative problem solver with the ability to think analytically and follow through with complex problems; strong follow-through and ability to implement tasks •Team player with a high-energy level and diligent work ethic, ability to meet or exceed deadlines, ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, ability to organize and prioritize activities
