FINANCIAL REPORTING LEAD

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Financial Reporting Lead is responsible for the monthly general ledger close, financial statements, board and committee packages, account analysis and financial variance analysis.
  • Oversee external audit process, regulatory reporting filings and GAAP reporting.
  • Be responsible for all financial reporting, maintaining proper accounting records, back up and reports in accordance with company's policies and procedures and generally accepted accounting principles ( "GAAP”).
  • Assist in the compliance of reporting and filing of regulatory reports to State and Federal agencies as required.
  • Research and interpret treatment of account pronouncements.
  • Present to management and publish white papers on evolving issues and transition the adoption of accounting procedures by company entities.
  • Prepare analytic support in financial fluctuation analyses with explanation for variances to budget, forecast and / or prior periods.
  • Coordinate and oversee the interim and year-end audit processes including organizational planning, preparation of audit schedules, financial statements, narrative notes and review of supporting documentation for audit.
  • Duties entail special projects including automation and efforts to streamline and improve reporting processes.
  • On-going development of the success of the new ERP system and act as Subject Matter Expect with respect to general accounting and GAAP.
  • Identify control and / or process inefficiencies and propose enhancements to the current process striving for continuous improvement.
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis and special projects as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must have a Master's Degree or CPA license.
  • 5+ years in public accounting preferred.
  • Understands all aspects of the accounting cycle.
  • Detail oriented, adheres to deadlines, strong analytical and organization skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Must be good a creating reports and presenting to C level.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
