Information Security Engineer

Information Security Engineer needed for a contract to hire opportunity with our client in Orange.

  • Plan and carry out our client’s information security strategy.
  • Develop a set of security standards and best practices and recommend security enhancements to management as needed.
  • Develop strategies to respond to and recover from a security breach.
  • Educate the workforce on information security through training and building awareness.
  • Install and use software, such as firewalls and data encryption programs, to protect our client’s sensitive information.
  • Assist the workforce with installation or processing of new security products and procedures.
  • Conduct periodic scans of networks to find any vulnerability.
  • Conduct penetration testing to highlight or find any weaknesses that might be exploited by a malicious party.
  • Monitor our client’s networks and systems for security breaches or intrusions on a consistent basis.
  • Install software that helps to notify of intrusions, and watch out for irregular system behavior.
  • If a breach has occurred, lead incident response activities to minimize the impact and investigate how the breach happened and the extent of the damage.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Technology field or related discipline.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in a Security environment.
  • CISSP certification required.
  • Must also have at least one of the following certifications:
    • Certified Ethical Hacker
    • Certified Forensic Examiner
    • Certified Penetration Tester
    • Any SANS Certifications
  • Direct experience with anti-virus software, intrusion detection, firewalls and content filtering.
  • Knowledge of risk assessment tools, technologies and methods.
  • Experience designing secure networks, systems and application architectures.
  • Knowledge of disaster recovery, computer forensic tools, technologies and methods.
  • Experience planning, researching and developing security policies, standards and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate network security issues to peers and management.
  • Ability to read and use the results of mobile code, malicious code, and anti-virus software.

  • Have a Hacker mentality with the ability to think one step ahead of the criminals.
  • Keeps up with new technology trends and is eager to be kept knowledgeable of the cyber security field.
