MARKETING BUDGET MANAGER

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Budget Manager is instrumental in maximizing budgeting and spending efficiency for the Field Marketing teams. In addition to budget management and analysis, the Analyst will assist in the planning and implementation of strategies to achieve key business objectives.
•    Inform department managers of due dates for the submission of budget items.
•    Act as an advisor to department managers in formulating their budget submissions.
•    Review proposed budget submissions for accuracy and completeness.
•    Ensure submissions align with corporate goals, strategies and legal regulations.
•    Examine whether budget submissions can be achieved based on known constraints and inform management of potential problem areas.
•    Confirm submissions and subsequent spend are categorized accurately.
•    Develop and maintain financial models and budget tracking sheets.
•    Create Statements of Work and POs.
•    Track corresponding invoices and payments.
•    Detailed quarterly forecasts by team.
•    Track and analyze actual results against historical, budgeted and forecasted results.
•    Provide timely, accurate reporting and analysis on a scheduled basis.
•    Inform budget managers of the status and availability of funds.
•    Improve financial status by analyzing results, variances, identifying trends and areas of concern.
•    Recommend actions to management to ensure conformance to budgetary limits and strategy.
•    Update the budget model as requested to account for significant changes in the business environment.
•    Prepare journal entries using proper accounting treatment.
•    Reconcile all transactions; partner with finance to ensure accurate accruals and close process.
•    Ad-hoc analyses based on request.

QUALIFICATIONS
•    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field.
•    Minimum 3 years in a similar role.
•    Understanding of budgeting and regulatory requirements.
•    Excellent MS Excel skills.
•    Independent worker with excellent mathematical ability and an analytical mind.
•    Must have effective communication skills (verbal, written and presentation).
•    Strong presence with the ability to interact with Senior Leadership.
•    Attention to detail and good organization skills is a must.
