The Human Resources is responsible for providing hands on implementation and execution of core Human Resources (HR) programs and policies that align with business initiatives, while partnering with the CFO of the company, as well as, providing overall HR direction to managers across multiple locations.
Additionally, this position will promote a company environment that supports and advocates strong team building for employee satisfaction and employee retention. Employ strong recruiting techniques using current recruiting sites and venues to build a professionally strong and industry knowledgeable team. Work to establish training for employee safety and professional growth.
Recruitment and Employee Retention
  • Employ progressive full cycle recruitment practices in the search and acquisition of new employees to fill new or replacement positions, including creating and updating job descriptions, place ads, screen resumes, interview prospective candidates, and assist hiring managers in the selection process.
  • Create and maintain a Company Hiring Plan and follow procedures for proper employment practices of all new employees.
  • Coordinate the timeliness of the Annual Employee Performance Review process and compensation reviews for employee satisfaction.
  • Establish a recruiting, testing, and interviewing program; counseling managers on candidate selection; conducting and analyzing exit interviews; recommending changes.
  • Research and track industry competitor’s Compensation Packages to maintain the company’s compensation platform competitive (including commission structure and 401(k) plan).
  • New Employee Orientation to include development and education in company procedures/policies and other professional training.
  • Strengthen Employee Retention and Satisfaction coordinating Team Building Events, open communication and encouraging Employee Participation in company growth.
  • Ensure planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees; scheduling management conferences with employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; counseling employees and supervisors.
HR Compliance and Payroll
  • Administration of the Employee Benefits / Open enrollment as well as Worker’s compensation.  Update employee insurance manual annually.
  • Maintain employee current and historical files (new employees, terminations, changes and updates, retrieval system for past and current records).
  • Liaison with general business insurance partner for all Workers Compensation, Medical, Dental, and 401(k). Monitor Worker’s Compensation claims and attend hearings as needed.
  • Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements; conducting investigations; maintaining records; representing the organization at hearings.
  • Respond to Unemployment claims and attend court hearings.
  • Deliver HR driven training sessions to include performance management, succession / workforce planning, supervisor training, diversity, sexual harassment.
  • Maintain management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures, and updating company handbook and employee manuals by state for various locations.
  • Maintain hiring packets and order all pre-hire background checks and DMV reports.
  • Coordinate and attend employee terminations and the COBRA process.
  • Maintain and update Organizational chart.
  • Monitor and enforce employee punctuality, attendance, adherence to dress code and overall professional workplace decorum.
  • Manage / review time-off / vacation schedule and report to management overtime.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Human Resources or a related degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years progressive HR experience as a generalist and/or at least 3-year supervisory experience.
  • Must have knowledge of HR employment laws, ADA, FMLA, EEO requirements.
  • Ability to make decisions and to prioritize and communicate effectively to staff, the key objectives necessary to achieve organizational goals.
  • Maintain education all State and Federal Employment laws through continuing education in Employment Law.
  • Advanced Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills required.
  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP, preferred.
