Current Need/Issue
 
The Ohio Department of Aging(ODA) is looking for an experienced and ambitious .net developer to join the team. As a .net developer you will be involved in design, development, coding, customization, configuration, testing, deployment of applications and provide post deployment support to our end users.
 
The initial engagement is for one year, with the possibility of an extension.
 
Project Deliverables
 
Duties and Responsibilities –
  • Assist or lead the analysis of business requirements
  • Participate in project effort estimation discussions
  • Work closely with Project Managers to ensure successful project delivery
  • Utilize established development tools, guidelines and conventions including C#, ASP.net, Oracle, HTML, CSS, Javascript, JQuery, Angular JS
  • Write and maintain code for various .net applications and resolve any defects in the systems.
  • Create test designs and test cases.
  • Manage defect tracking system and resolve any issues identified during testing.
  • Provide post implementation support to end users
  • Produce operational documentation
  • Train fulltime staff in maintenance of the various systems
 
Requirements
  • 6+ years of development experience with .net, C#, ASP.net 4.0, MVC 4.0, JQuery and Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server
  • Experience using development tools such as VS 2015 and Oracle SQL Developer
  • Database design and development (Oracle)
  • Heavy client-side validation skills required
  • Experience with Web Services
  • Strong background in object oriented development techniques and best practices
  • Knowledge of Web Farm/ Azure is a plus.
  • Experience with Team Foundation Server (TFS) required.
  • Familiarity with HTTP Debugging tools
  • Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle and Agile methodologies.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
 
Engagement Assumptions
 
  1. Contract resource(s) will be considered fulltime and would not be assigned to other contracts or business engagements without approval and/or permission by either Bill Gill (ODA/ISD Development Manager) or David Saunders (ODA CIO) for the duration of the contract period. 
  2. Selected vendor will provide weekly timesheets to support monthly invoices. 
  3. Vendor will provide monthly status updates to the ODA/ISD Development Manager (Bill Gill). 
  4. The engagement will be considered a Time and Materials project.  ODA will not be responsible for contract resource(s) travel or daily expenses.
  5. Vendor bids should attempt to project the estimated hours and costs for the initiative by quarter.
