Client is seeking a Systems Administrator / Network Engineer for a consulting assignment, possible consult/hire opportunity for the right person.

Systems Administrator / Network Engineer is responsible for all of the administration tasks associated with the Corporate Wide Area Network and Local Area Network. This includes administrative support of the firewalls, routers, switches, wireless networking, network security, and maintenance of those devices and services across the network environment.

  • Provides administrative support of the Local Area Networks including IP addressing, VLANS, switches and wireless controllers and access points
  • Provides administrative support of the wide area networks including Firewalls, VPN tunnels, MPLS, routers, BGP and EIGRP dynamic routing protocols
  • Establishes guidelines, designs and methods for the installation, maintenance and management of remote networks supporting Corporate Offices as well as Retail locations globally. This includes and is not limited to QOS for VOIP phone system including router bandwidth prioritization and traffic shaping
  • Responsible for 24x7 network monitoring and response for global networks. Interfacing with telecom carriers and 3rd Party support partners as needed to ensure service interruptions are addressed in a timely fashion.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline or Minimum of 5 years related experience
  • Cisco CCNP certification required
  • Ability to function calmly in high-pressure situations such as network outages/service
  • Strong experience in administration of all Cisco switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless networks including controllers, Client, and software
  • Has been responsible for maintaining Cisco Client and for setup and administration of network security system
  • Knowledgeable in current networking trends

  • Experience working effectively in complex global organizations, satisfying the needs of diverse constituents, and often working under the pressure of competing and sometimes conflicting priorities
