As the Desktop Support Tech in this role, you will represent CompuCom in a professional and businesslike manner and communicate effectively with customers and associates. You will educate users on technology features, assisting with the hardware selection process, demos, and training along with providing software and personal training sessions for users on standard toolsets.
 
Principal responsibilities:
  • Performs general technical support and troubleshoots mobile devices, desktop and laptop systems software, hardware and account issues
  • Performs computer hardware and software installation and configuration
  • Ensures all systems work properly
  • Escalates problems and issues to a higher level of support
  • Telco Support
  • Performs Moves / Adds / Changes (MAC) for both analog and VOIP phones
  • Perform MAC for voicemail service
  • Installs, terminates, and tests physical network jacks (MAC)
  • Provides 8x5 physical on-site break-fix support for infrastructure including telephones; cabling; wiring closets
  • Solve a broad range of day-to-day onsite technical issues on network infrastructure and internal desktop systems
  • Customize communication, instructions, and product knowledge to the level of the individual
  • Determine the most cost-effective repair to minimize customer downtime
  • Prepare reports for analysis
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of deskside support experience
  • A+ certification preferred
  • Solid experience and understanding of IT services and products
  • Ability to transform technical IT language into terms everyone understands
  • Must possess strong communications and strong technical ability
  • Relatable with customers and impeccable with follow-through
  • Must be able to self-manage and work with remote team
  • Not intimidated by problems you’ve never seen before – confidence is key!

  • Must live within 45 minutes of drive time for the Lynn, MA location
