LX Developer

Location: Dallas, Texas

Responsibilities:
• Work directly with IT Business Analysts to document, develop, implement, test and provide on-going support for our LX ERP system.
• Ensure that standard industry coding standards and company quality standards are followed while using current best practices.
• Will design, develop, test, maintain, and document highly complex ERP systems based on technical and functional requirements.
• Ensure integration between ERP systems are not compromised; understands all interface touch points and potential challenges.
• Prepares user and technical/functional documentation for the implementation, support, and running of new and/or modified systems and processes.
• Review and make recommendations for user and application documentation, including operational documentation.
• Develop technical requirements and level of effort estimates.
• Solid consultative and relationship-building skills
• Provide direct support to our BPCS/LX ERP software modules and processes including: sales, order management, production, inventory control, supply-chain management, manufacturing, engineering (BOM), finance, and other business functions in order to develop new or modified information processing systems.
• Maintenance and troubleshooting of existing application systems.
• Provide second level support for Help Desk tickets and user training.
• Will be required to be part of the off hours on-call rotation.
Required Skills and Qualifications
• Experience in supporting multi-location manufacturing enterprise software products such as LX/BPCS ERP is required.
• AS/400 (I-Series) RPG IV/ILE and DB2/AS-400
• Experience in Infor IDF (Infor Development Frameworks)
• SQL, Control Language, sub files, IFS/QDLS file creation/extraction processing, FTP/SFTP commands and embedded SQL within RPG programs
• Expertise of file transfer using multiple techniques between the I-Series and various platforms
• XML processing, JAVA on I-Series, Bar coding and Zebra language is desirable.
• Bachelor's degree, computer science or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant job experience
• Able to mentor other developers; provide input based on past experiences/expertise; "lead by example” to peers/colleagues; a team player with team building capability
• Complies with the company's guidelines and corporate policies at all times
• Able to handle multiple projects, define project scope and objectives, assist with project schedules, work with cross-functional project team(s) and adhere to project deadlines, while staying within the approved budgeted parameters accordingly
• Strong collaboration skills with ability to collect business requirements and interface with the internal and external user community including various levels of management.
• Manufacturing industry experience, preferably within the core process domains of planning/scheduling, master data, production, shop floor control, inventory management, distribution, warehouse management and finance.
• Effective written communication and presentation skills.
• Experience with Microsoft office products, including MS-Visio and MS-Project.
