Our client, a respected leader committed to meeting the evolving professional development needs of the Risk Management & Insurance community, is seeking a Oracle DBA for a long-term contract assignment.

Job Title: Oracle DBA
Location: Malvern, PA
Contract Duration: 12 months
Must be able to work W2 on NTT DATA Services payroll.

Summary

The Database Administrator's role is to work with Project team to complete Oracle 12c upgrade. This person may also be asked to assist with Oracle maintenance activities and other Oracle DBA tasks as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the current DBA with all assigned tasks
  • Assist with testing and remediation as needed
  • Respond to and resolve database access and performance issues as needed
  • Perform ongoing tuning of database instances included schedule and ad hoc jobs
  • Monitor database system details within the database, including stored procedures and execution time, and implement efficiency improvements as needed
  • Design and implement redundant systems, policies, and procedures for database recovery and data archiving to ensure effective protection and integrity of data assets
  • Monitor, optimize and allocate physical data storage for database systems
  • Conduct research and make recommendations on database products, services, protocols, and standards in support of procurement and development effortserform database transaction and security audits
  • Provide detailed documentation for ongoing support and future upgrades
  • Recommend best practices procedures to database developers and end-users
  • Trouble-shoot Oracle database, server and tool problems as needed
  • Create new database instances as required by the development teams
Required Competencies
  • Oracle 12c Database Management (Security management, Performance tuning, Resource estimation, Backup and recovery, Clustering)
  • Network Administration
  • Project Skills (Customer Focused, Team oriented, Ability to provide high level time estimations around tasks)
  • Provides support to programming projects and staff
  • Supports IT managers when budgeting and purchasing hardware
Qualifications
  • Must be able to work W-2 on NTT Data payroll
  • College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or equivalent work experience
  • Eight plus years of IT experience
  • Five plus years administering Oracle databases
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
