Business Analyst

Responsibilities:
The business analyst is to act as a liaison between the business partners and technical development team; innovate, design, test and implement software solutions within company standards; and deliver quality solutions to resolve functional issues.

Responsibilities will include:
  • Work directly with the participations/residuals user community to define system functionality that will support key business requirements for projects.
  • Work closely with the our client's IT team (project managers, analysts, and developers) to ensure the smooth and efficient design and development lifecycle.
  • Tasks will include participations/residuals requirements gathering, specification document creation, screen, and table design, and test plan definition, test execution, and user signoff.
  • Create design specifications using use case diagrams and narratives following client standards.
  • Work closely with the director and manager to ensure that the needs of the users are satisfied and to establish level of effort and scope of requested projects for prioritization.

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree required in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related fields.
  • Minimum 5 years business analysis experience with at least 1 year in the entertainment industry, preferably in participations, residuals or finance.
  • Proven experience working with applications supporting large financial data bases and complex calculations.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with custom applications preferably on web-based financial applications.
  • Proven experience gathering, and documenting business requirements, data and process flows, writing use cases, business rules, and test plans.
  • Proven experience designing screens and other user interfaces via tools such as Visio and/or Axure
  • Proficient in creating and executing manual test cases.
  • Professional, motivated, self-starter, and results oriented.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to create and give presentations to clients and team members.

Desired Skills:
  • Experience with the PARIS application or other versions of the system (Sylvester and PAWS).
  • Proven experience with studio-based participations and residuals calculations, financial or payment functions as an analyst or consultant.
  • Experience using Microsoft SQL to build queries to extract data to support requirements.
  • Knowledge of Jira and Axure tools
