Spark/Scala/Java Developer

Client is looking for a senior Spark/Scala/Java developer with expertise in the Hadoop ecosystem to help our product team transition and optimize data workloads from traditional SQL-based RDBMS solutions to a big data platform. You will be responsible for developing scalable data transformation code with emphasis on performance while dealing with large healthcare-related data sets. You will use the best tools for the job to deliver elegant, scalable solutions that meet the client's business and technical requirements.

  • Writing Data Extraction, Transformation code
  • Testing and debugging the code for quality assurance.
  • Reviewing code written by the team members.
  • Debugging production problems.
Required skills:
  • Spark 2.x
  • Scala 2.x
  • Experience with all phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • SQL
  • Experience with at least one or more RDBMS systems (i.e., DB2, PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.)
  • Java 1.8+
  • Hadoop/HDFS
  • Hive
Nice to have skills:
  • Apache NiFi
  • HBase
  • Kafka
  • Healthcare Industry experience.
