Position Description:
  • You, the research recruiter/assistant, will be responsible for supporting regular cycles of usability studies, which are required to help cross-functional teams (product management, UX, engineering and business development).
  • Your efforts will help inform decisions on both tactical user interface changes and strategic direction for new and existing products or services.
  • Using your creative problem-solving and strong communication skills, you'll source and recruit customers/users effectively; screening them for availability, interest level, and appropriate qualifications using online questionnaire responses and phone interviews.
  • Using your multitasking and organizational skills, you'll coordinate the logistics of user research, including participant scheduling, facility scheduling, and distribution of incentives across a variety of study formats, including lab-based usability studies, field studies, and surveys.
  • Using your proactive and detail-oriented skills, you'll observe usability testing sessions, take notes, provide detailed transcripts for the team, and assist with data collection activities.
  • Using your sharp eyes and ears and innovative instincts, you'll help with UX improvements based on observing usability testing sessions.

Able to keep tabs on many projects, pay close attention to detail, and plan well while accommodating the unexpected.
BA/BS in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Experimental Psychology, Anthropology, Information Science or related field (2+ years experience with BA/BS or 1+ years experience with MS).
Excellent analytical ability, especially with regard to observation of user behavior.
Strong oral and written communication skills.

Any experience in web technology and standards, business applications, online ads, retail.
Demonstrated proficiency with office productivity tools including email, web browser, web apps, database search, spreadsheets/word processors (Google Apps).
