Change Manager - Contract

The Coordinator of Organizational Change is responsible for coordinating change management processes to create a strategy which will ensure organizational readiness and acceptance required by a project or initiative. The individual in this position is responsible for embedding organizational change management practices in the organization's projects and structured work efforts to achieve the desired business outcomes. This role is responsible for leading, coordinating and providing visibility into the organization's change management efforts.
  • Employs a structured change management methodology to create conditions for a smooth transition to change and promote maximum enthusiasm to adapt to the change
  • Conducts impact analyses and assesses the organization's change readiness to prepare for organizational change
  • Identifies key stakeholders impacted by the change and provides recommendations on when the timing of the change will occur
  • Creates a communication plan or roadmap to ensure all employees are fully aware of the impending changes
  • Promotes the business vision with a benefit framework that links adoption to change to successful project delivery and business outcome
  • Creates tailored change management plans with respect to training and orientation to accommodate the needs of different stakeholder groups impacted by the change
  • Identifies potential points of resistance; Analyzes and develops risk mitigation strategies to minimize potential resistance
  • Conducts a gap analysis and promptly addresses doubts and uncertainty surrounding the change to foster a positive acceptance of change
  • Provides ongoing coaching and mentoring around good change management practices to senior leadership and project managers to increase effectiveness in driving sustainable change
  • Assesses all events that impact employees and regularly reviews ongoing changes to create a heat map to identify risk of too much change and potential change fatigue
  • Solicits feedback to assess the success of the change management activities and behavior changes so that they align with strategic objectives
  • Coordinates the establishment of a community of change agents and/or evangelists (where one is agreed on and needed) to put a face on change; Leverages trusted informal leaders to create understanding among staff and influence successful organizational change
  • Works with the Talent (HR) Division to create mechanisms to demotivate old behaviors and incentivize the desired ones; this may involve redesigning jobs and defining behavioral competencies and performance metrics

Additional Responsibilities
  • Keeps pace with advances in change management delivery in all areas of education and takes advantage of those to increase the Districts' effectiveness
  • Develops and maintains relationships with District leadership and project team members
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator


Education: Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field preferred
Experience: Minimum 6 years of Change Management or related experience required
Certification/Licensure: None required; Certification in Change Management preferred
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Proven track record of successful organizational change management with achieving identified strategic business objectives and benefits
  • Demonstrated experience in working with diverse teams
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, which are essential for interacting with key stakeholders at all levels across the project to manage, inform and influence successful project outcomes
  • Experience with and deep knowledge of change management methodologies, approaches and tools
  • Good working knowledge of industry-standard project management methodologies and project life cycles highly desirable
  • Expertise in setting and managing stakeholder expectations
  • Deep understanding of the impact of change and the interdependencies with and impact on the business
  • Must possess a distinctive blend of business acumen
  • Broad understanding of IT organization functions and stays abreast of technology trends
  • Financial and performance skills to ensure that organization change efforts improve project performance and business benefit realization
