Developer - Full Stack Lead

Accountable for the analysis, design, development, implementation and support of applications in support of the Lines of Business strategies, and of building and maintaining a high performing team. This role has people management accountabilities.

Some Specific Functions of This Role:
  • Builds and maintains a high performing and highly motivated team through coaching and mentoring
  • Fosters the cross-functional agile culture on the team
  • Drives Continuous Improvement and innovation culture with their team, provide thought leadership on emerging technologies and practices, demonstrates a passion for automation and process optimizations
  • Designs high quality solutions, with optimization, scalability and re-usability in mind, and write clear, concise, well-structured and well-documented code according to accepted standards based on user requirements
  • Inputs to the development and devOps/automation standards, collaborating with the architects and senior managers on the team and across the department
  • Presents solutions in a well-articulated way, presenting pros and cons clearly, to audiences ranging from non-technical to highly technical. Leads brainstorms in a collaborative, objective, results-focused way.
  • Codes with security, page/site performance, accessibility, SEO and analytics tracking in mind, with Test Driven Development mindset, with the following
  • Participates in project and team meetings interacting and collaborating with team members and other departments as appropriate.
  • Drives successful completion of project deliverables
  • Provides technical guidance to team members.
Qualifications:
    • Exceptional communications and leadership skills
    • Thorough in-depth knowledge of design and analysis methodology and application development processes from both an industry and BMO perspective
    • Strong leadership and interpersonal skill
    • Strong collaboration and communications (both written and verbal) skill
    • University degree or college diploma in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience
    • Minimum 5 years systems analysis and programming experience with extensive business knowledge
    • Specific demonstrated technical skills required for this rol
  • Must have:
    • Python
    • HTML 5
    • CSS3
    • Javascript and related frameworks (React preferred, or demonstrated experience on other frameworks and quick to learn) (knowledge of integration considerations with Target, analytics platforms)
    • Proven practices of web/mobile accessibility
    • Proven knowledge of DevOps in practice
  •  
  • Preferred:
    • CMS experience (Drupal, Django, AEM, any other)
    • Postgres or any relational DB knowledge
  •  
  • Nice to have:
    • Docker
    • Minimum 3 years leading a team, with people management accountabilities
    • Solid understanding of SDLC and QA requirements
    • Strong analytical skills for complex problem solving
    • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
    • Strong upkeep on emerging technologies and passion for automation and optimization capabilities
