Database Engineers are responsible for managing the relationship with internal R&D teams, keeping current on technology trends, and continuous modernization and improvement of ADP products.

Database Engineers are responsible for managing the relationship with internal R&D teams, keeping current on technology trends, and continuous modernization and improvement of ADP products.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders (Product Managers, Scrum Masters) to gather and develop requirements. Requirements assessment and solution recommendation that meets business need in alignment with ADP standards and strategic direction.
  • Participate effectively with Development groups in relevant aspects of software development life cycle (SDLC) including assisting in design, testing, reviews and demonstrations.
  • Collaborate with various teams to do performance analysis, tuning and right structural modification/design.
  • Creates high level logical and physical designs in focus as input into the Budget and Scope Estimate Proposal.
  • Develops detailed designs for specific solution of focus. This includes infrastructure specifications, software versions and configurations
  • Defines implementation and test procedures and provides feedback on product issues
  • Develop workflow automation and orchestration to eliminate manual and repetitive workflows.
  • Provides production support and addresses escalations
  • Participate in project planning and release management. Higher level jobs would be expected to manage broader or multiple projects at a time.
  • Acts as an expert source of technology and application knowledge within their domain.
  • Research, recommend and introduce new technologies and new uses of existing technologies
  • Participates in Business planning, IT Strategy and setting direction
  • ISO 9001 and 27001: Review IT Infrastructure & Operations Group Vision Statement, and the Quality and Security Policy periodically. Need to understand group's commitment to excellent
    client service, security and continual improvement and conform to these policies and group principles always.
 
Skills required:
  • 3+ years managing MongoDB in a production environment
  • 3+ years Linux OS experience in a production environment.
  • Python automation experience
  • Strong background in designing solutions for unstructured data, NoSQL database technologies
  • Install, deploy and manage MongoDB on physical and virtual machines.
  • Create, configure and monitor large-scale, secure, MongoDB shared clusters.
  • Support MongoDB in a high availability, multi-data center environment and a proven ability to troubleshoot live production problems.
  • Configure and monitor numerous MongoDB instances, replica sets and backups
  • Maintain database performance and capacity planning and performance tuning, partnering with application teams to provide guidance and recommendations for best using MongoDB.
