Summary of Position Description – Full-time onsite Project Manager for several major technology initiatives. The Project Manager will support the Department of Human Services with a primary initiative of implementing their new Electronic Health Record system and will work multiple projects simultaneously within the constraints of scope, quality, time and cost, to deliver specified requirements. Requirements and Preferences: 8 years of PM experience, preferably with experience implementing EHR systems. Excellent oral and written communication skills with the English language and recent experience (within past three years) managing information technology projects. PMP certification is preferred. Additional preferences include experience with formal project management methodologies; procurement and implementation of technology solutions; implementation of cloud-based solutions; Enterprise Application Integration; database design (SQL and Oracle); business process development; functional and technical requirements for large applications; current software development technologies and methodologies; and formal testing methodologies. Performance Standards: Selected candidate must be able to effectively plan, monitor and control project activities as described below. Operate within defined parameters using project management methodology Lead a team of project resources and SME’s Develop or contribute to resource, risk, quality, cost, and scope management plans. Facilitate weekly or bi-weekly project meetings with the project team Establish good relationships with key stakeholders Ensure sponsor and key stakeholders are aligned with project goals Ensure that the project remains on the critical path and that all milestones are met on time Negotiate for project resources Establish an environment that empowers the team and facilitate decision making Manage the project budget Build partnership with the vendor Collaborate with vendor’s project manager or designated contact(s) and the project team members to develop project schedule and project management plans Track and communicate progress, including formal status reports Regularly provide updates of project status, schedules of completion, project issues, and needed modifications to stakeholders, the Executive Management team and City management Track and facilitate resolution of issues Prepare purchase requisitions for all project expenditures, including contracted labor paid from the project budget, and obtain appropriate approvals Track purchase orders and payments Coordinate changes in the technical environment Coordinate acceptance of deliverables Ensure compliance with contract Manage change requests Facilitate resolution of interpersonal conflicts Identify and manage risks Ensure alignment of business and technical requirements Coordinate preparation of subscription agreement for on-going operational support Support project warranty period Coordinate transition to post-project operations
