The SQL Developer plays a critical role on the Investment Business Intelligence team focusing primarily on SQL Server stored procedure development, ETL Package development and maintenance using SSIS, database loading and performance tuning, as well as SSRS Report development. This role will work closely with global associates in Information Technology, the Investment Division, and other business units. A high degree of organizational skills and the ability to navigate a global enterprise are essential requirements in this role.
The ideal candidate will have the acumen to handle complex situations and multiple responsibilities simultaneously mixing requirements analysis, data analysis, ETL Feed monitoring and automation, SQL Stored procedure development, database performance tuning and report development.
The SQL Developer's primary responsibilities include:
Monitor Data Warehouse Load processes and resolve issues as they arise.
Design, code, implement, and maintain business intelligence solutions utilizing SQL Server.
Develop views, stored procedures, and functions.
Rewrite existing queries to improve query performance and optimize code.
Develop ETL (Extract, Tranform, Load) packages to pull data from source systems and load target databases using SSIS.
Define table indexing and partitioning strategies to improve database and query performance
• Implement SQL based security models to protect sensitive data from unauthorized users.
Develop reports using SSRS and Power BI
5 years of experience in the following
SQL Server Development skills including:
Data Integration - familiarity with multiple forms of data integration including ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) using tools like SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
Data Warehousing - familiar with current data warehousing practices and trends. This includes understanding the difference between an OLTP, an ODS, and a Data Warehouse as well as dimensional modeling techniques such as snow flakes and star schemas. Familiar with one or more OLAP tools and understand multidimensional data analysis.
Data Modeling - experienced with data architecture principals and have experience building Entity Relationship diagrams with one or more data modeling tools such as Microsoft Visio Professional.
Query Development - Demonstrated experience developing SQL Queries, views, stored procedures, and functions.
Database Tuning: Experience optimizing SQL Queries through the use of temporary tables, indexes, and table partitioning
SQL Server Reporting Services
At least 1 years of experience in the following.
SQL Server 2016 - Familiarity and experience with new features of SQL Server 2016 including, but not limited to:
Row Level Security
Preferred: C#, .Net, MS Office VBA
