IT Governance Consultant (SOX)

MAJOR DUITES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Work closely with IT Governance, Corporate SMEs and stakeholders to assist in the process definition, refinement, documentation, socialization and training around the creation of an SSDLC.
  • Be primarily responsible for the project effort with regular check-ins and guidance from the IT Governance team.
  • Review existing SDLC and procedures to look for re-usable portions, create criteria-based decision points and procedures for projects to flow through, meet with relevant SMEs and stakeholders to discuss requirements, work to update and implement a new/revised SSDLC, consider use of Veracode (or similar) solution in the process
  • Conduct training for Corporate IT to educate on the newly developed SSDLC
  • Disseminate documentation to the involved teams
Key deliverables to include, but not limited to, SSDLC policy document, SSDLC process flow, SSDLC hard tollgates, SSDLC questionnaires, etc.

Work closely with IT Governance, Financial Compliance, and SOX process owners/performers to update SOX documentation and procedures (i.e. SOX narratives, test procedures, expected test evidence, etc.)
  • Meet with SOX process owners and performers to walk through documents and set expectations (objective of control, how to best test, what testing will be done, what evidence to be gathered, what reviews should consist of, etc.)
Experience/Skills Required
Experience
  • Experience with IT Governance, audit/compliance, SOX testing, project management background and experience developing and implementing SDLC and compliance policies and standards.
  • Establishing a Secure Software Development Lifecycle: Planning, Developing, Documenting, Educating/Training
  • SOX compliance a plus: Familiarity with SOX controls and IT GCC controls
  • Experience owning, driving, completing, and delivering new department wide procedures and policies.
  • Previous enterprise technology project delivery required.
  • Minimum 5+ years of project management or IT Management.
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Management, Technology, Engineering, Training or related field preferred.
Skills Required
  • Prepare and maintain project plan (tool used doesn't matter)
  • Proficient with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio)
  • Executive reporting and presentation skills: Regular check-ins to present status and progress; Showcase developed procedures and supporting documentation; Share road-map and expected next steps.
  • Self-starter with ability to take an idea or concept and run with it.
  • Ability to interface with key stakeholders and determine best path forward.
  • Strong organizational, presentation, and customer service skills.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
  • Comfort interfacing with and providing training with all levels of resources.
