Our client is looking to hire a Business Systems Analyst for a long term contract opportunity in the city of Pasadena


Our client is seeking a Business Systems Analyst to support the Customer Service Groups (Call Center, Billing, Credit Collections and Field Service), performing analytical duties and maintaining the current system to support the needs of the daily operations.

Job Duties:
  • Understand business process requirements to troubleshoot issues and develop process improvements
  • Coordinate problem/process resolution with Information Technology or current billing system vendor's technical support and participate in solution testing
  • Evaluate solutions and billing system vendor deliverables for accuracy and completeness to ensure requirements are met
  • Support implementation of new customer product offerings, new customer rebate programs, and changes to utility rates
  • Develop business solutions for changes to billing or meter reading requirements and provide support for any technical development requisite for implementation
  • Develop gap analysis and documentation
  • Assist with alignment of processes in system
  • Develop and maintain system user documentation; Provide user support and training, as needed
  • Be a self-learner to research issues and be a problem solver
  • Able to plan, organize and prioritize daily assignments and work activities
  • Serves as a central point of coordination with IT on significant application/hardware problems and change request issues that require assignment of resources
  • Document/diagram functional and technical process flows
  • Conducts research and analyzes statistical and other data; makes recommendations on administrative and operational problems, policies and procedures. Provide support for data audits for the department including billing system data audits.
  • Have understanding of utility regulations, ordinance, policies and procedures to provide assistance to Customer Service and Marketing Group.
  • Develops and maintains user documentation; plans and coordinates the deployment of new technologies within the department; supports the development of test plans including acceptance criterions and testing data sets; coordinates user acceptance testing and the resolution of problems identified; may develop training materials, handouts, desktop procedures; may conduct user applications training classes and one-on-one training sessions.
Job Requirements:
  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in business or public administration, management information systems or a closely related field
  • Minimum 5 years of working experience in professional business systems analysis.
  • Implement business rules through configuration and setup.
  • Electric and Water utility experience
Desirable Skills:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 2016 and Microsoft Visio
  • Understanding of SQL code/statements
