Network Admin/IT Generalist

NTT DATA, Inc., a top 10 global IT services company, has an immediate need for a Network Admin/IT Generalist to support our client in Spokane, WA.

Description:
  • The IS manager must have an understanding of the technological and organizational needs of the company. The IS manager is charged with researching and implementing ways that technology and network-based systems can increase company organization and productivity. They must also stay up-to-date with current and emerging technology and computing trends.
  • The IS manager provides internal support and troubleshooting on computers and software. The IS manager is the vendor contact for computers and software as well as updating of systems
  • Designs, specifies, configures, installs, integrates and maintains network hardware, software and telecommunications systems to assure timely, secure and reliable processing of data as required.
  • Maintains network file servers, PC workstations, laptops, printers, routers, switches, modems, cabling and Internet communications devices to assure timely, secure and reliable access to data as required by all locations and all authorized users.
  • Maintains and upgrades network and application software as needed.
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures related to network hardware and software acquisition, use, support, security, and backup.
  • Establishes and maintains network users, user environments, directories, and security.
  • Responds to the needs and questions of network users concerning their access to resources on the network and the operation of various software applications.
  • Trains users on software and equipment usage.
  • Responsible for the daily maintenance, testing, and safeguarding of network and other PC data file backup media and proper storage.
  • Develops and communicates standards for use, operations, and security of network, personal computers, and data.
  • Communicates with other departments to report and resolve hardware, software and operations problems.
  • Consults with other department managers to develop system solutions consistent with organizational strategies and objectives.
  • Responsible for installation, maintenance and staff training of telephone, e-mail, and voice mail systems.
  • Completes full set-up for new employees including hardware, software, email, network drops and phones.
  • Provides in-house administration of the telephone system, coordinating maintenance and support with outside vendors as needed.
  • Establishes and maintains extensions and users, including adds, moves and deletes, user system software.
  • Maintains or coordinates maintenance of system hardware.
  • Establishes and coordinates external communications systems, including telephone and cable lines.
  • Provides training and support to users as needed.
  • Development & maintenance of private intranet and public Internet sites
  • Responsible for ongoing repair and maintenance off all data processing equipment, including photo copiers, fax machines, scanners, and postage meters.
  • Responsible for the secure maintenance and timely retrieval of all stored data, including electronic, paper or other media.
  • Safeguards assets by planning and implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures.

Education/Experience:
  • College degree in information technology or related field, plus 1-2 related years' experience.

Preferred Experience:
  • Management and installation of Microsoft Server 2003, 2008, and 2012.
  • Microsoft SharePoint web services, Google G-Suite management and deployment.
  • Office 2007-2016 installation and management.
  • AIX Unix server hardware and software.
  • Windows 7, 8, and 10 client support.
  • Ubiquity WiFi system, managed network switches.
  • Zyxel and Cisco routers/firewalls.
  • Toshiba Phone system setup and programming
